Damp detection with infrared cameras allows you to cut costs and minimise the need for unnecessary repairs.

Infrared inspection is a fast and non-invasive method which permits the detection of damp spots in walls. This type of inspection does not directly detect the presence of mould, but is used to locate damp where mould may occur. The limitations of obtaining accurate infrared images depend on the capacity of the surface under inspection to emit thermal energy. Plasterboard (drywall) in interior walls is a good emitter, whilst areas with high reflectance are not. Given that the temperature difference between a dry and damp wall is small, a sensitive infrared camera must be used.
